It was a beautiful Thanksgiving with friends that feel like family and following that we had Gma K come to visit!
We feel so incredibly grateful for the past year…it was a good time to be thankful.
We hosted our first sit down dinner at our new home and it was so much fun to set the table and plan food for guests! Here’s some pics of the table setting.
Our friends and us split up all the big turkey day dishes and they did a smoked turkey-which was amazing and we made a leg of lamb-delicious!
Our other friends brought an amazing better than sex cake which was to die for! They also brought along their 3 week old baby, Lillian. It was a great night with food, friends, babes and music. It couldn’t have been any better seeing that we don’t have family here. Of course having turkey day with our fams would have been ideal, but we made the most of it.
Today I used the leftover lamb bone and made an awesome stock…I also added in leftover rotisserie chicken bones, added water and seasonings: sea salt, pepper, garlic, slap yo mama and celery salt. I then frozethe stock to use to make other dishes such as pulled pork in the slow cooker or bases for soups.
I’ve also been making Nealia her food and freezing it! She’s been slowly trying new foods and loves bananas, avocado, pear and is getting used to sweet potatoes. I steamed them, mashed them and froze them in her food storage containers. It’s been so much fun introducing her to new foods and watching her try them out with a bit of resistance at first. She loves her sippy cup and has mastered getting the water or milk from it! She even does the one hand hold which is so funny because she looks at me like she’s so cool!
She is getting to be such a big girl and is starting to crawl…yikes! She army crawls all over to get her toys and is starting to go up on her knees and hands and rock..any day now she’ll be taking off and then there’s really no going back haha! It’s so cool to see her learn new things. I’ve been letting her play even more independently and she’s really discovering new things without my influence..it’s amazing how their little minds think and process–babies are so smart!
Here are some pics from Gma’s visit this past weekend! We had so much fun hanging out and dressing Nealia up in cute clothes!
Big girl sitting in the cart!
Watching Dad play guitar! She loves it!
It was a great long weekend and we are truly thankful!
